REVIEW: Eliza And The Bear – Lion’s Heart

elizaalkbum

There is not a lot I know about this band, which probably isn’t the best start to a review, but I can tell you they are from London and their new track Lion’s Heart is brilliant and its my Record Box, track of the week.

I don’t have a certain genre of music I like most, I tend to just hear a song find an element that sticks out and Lions Heart’s catchy hooky chorus does that. Its big, bashy and uplifting and is already creeping up the BBC Radio 1 playlist and mine.  It reminds me of another song but sure which one, maybe “Fun – We Are Young” or something very MGMT.

If you like guitar rock/pop with trumpets you like this one, take a listen.

Review: Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweat – S.O.B

Absolutely loving this feeling good foot stomping track from Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats.  Its already done the rounds in the USA and reached number Top 10 in the Alternative Rock Chart and AAA.

If you like Folk-Pop, big beards and soulful and gospel style sings … oh and a drink, you’ll probably love S.O.B.  It has already made Record of the Week on Radio X in the UK and after an appearance on Later with Jools Holland it will no doubt will find its way onto BBC Radio 2 play list in the coming weeks, maybe Radio 1 if it’s lucky :)

REVIEW: Macklemore & Ryan Lewis – Downtown

Loving this track at the moment, who in the right mind would write a song about a moped, other than Jasper Carrott, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis of course.

With its shades of “Uptown Funk”, Grandmaster Flash “White Lines” and its “back of the hair standing” chorus it well worth a listen, you may even find yourself sharing your helmet with someone and have you felt the warm embrace of leather between your legs haha.
